Delicious

As part of the Delicious project, the Istituto Fratelli Maristi in Giugliano in Campania recently hosted an engaging event centered on nutrition education. The highlight of the day was a vibrant banquet led by a professional nutritionist, who captivated the young audience with colorful posters featuring tips, insights, and the iconic food pyramid.

The initiative sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among children and adolescents, who eagerly asked questions and engaged in meaningful discussions about healthy eating habits. The interactive session encouraged participants to think critically about their food choices and understand the importance of balanced nutrition.

This activity reflects the institute’s commitment to fostering a culture of well-being and education, empowering the next generation to make informed decisions for a healthier future.

In the same framework of this project, also this year the school held an event dedicated to sports. Students enjoyed a day full of games and physical activity. Divided into teams, each with a different colour assigned, each class competed in basketball, soccer, and dodgeball tournaments. During the event, the children also roasted chestnuts, in perfect alignment with the project’s focus on promoting healthy eating, featuring local and seasonal products.

Finally, in November 2024, the first-grade students of the Istituto Fratelli Maristi in Giugliano, participating in the DELICIOUS project, had a hand-on learning experience at an educational farm. The children, with flour-covered hands and aprons tied, enthusiastically learned how to make pumpkin gnocchi, immersing themselves in the joy of cooking while exploring local food traditions. This activity also promoted a healthy lifestyle through nutrition, encouraging the students to appreciate the benefits of wholesome, homemade meals.
